Graham Potter took advantage of Sweden’s press conference, before facing Bosnia in the Nations League, to slip a little dig at Manchester City. While his selection is decimated by injuries and a wave of illness, the Swedish coach referred to the legal setbacks of the Skyblues, recently found guilty of 114 violations of financial rules by an independent commission. Manchester City have since appealed this decision.
“We have as many absentees as Manchester City have charges against them”launched Graham Potter, causing a few smiles at the press conference. The English technician then added: “we were affected by an infection or a virus. This is not ideal. It’s a sad situation, it’s not good for football, nor for the League. But we have to work with the players we have and not think about an ideal world where everyone is available.”.
