Djibril Cissé reacted strongly to the accusations calling into question the refereeing of the match which allowed Manchester City to win the title in 2012 (3-2 victory against Queens Park Rangers while the latter led 2-1 at the time of added time). Asked to react to suspicions of corruption targeting the referee of the match, the former French international firmly rejected this reading of events. “I can’t let you say stupid things like that”notably launched the former AJ Auxerre striker.

Then add: “Let’s have a real meeting to discuss this. Because there’s no way I’m still putting up with your bullshit. So let’s do it”. The consultant notably defended the integrity of the arbitrator and called for questionable arbitration decisions not to be transformed into accusations of corruption without concrete elements. A particularly firm stance, which illustrates the annoyance of the former French international (41 caps, 9 goals) in the face of the debates following this meeting and the suspicions surrounding the coronation of Manchester City.
