Away from the field for more than two months, Eli Junior Kroupi is seriously getting closer to a return to competition. Operated on July 29 for a fractured metatarsal, the Bournemouth striker returned to the pitch on Saturday for the first time since his injury. The 20-year-old Frenchman was able to perform runs and some ball exercises, another important step in his rehabilitation. Since his operation in London, the former Lorient player has spent most of his convalescence at the Cherries training center, between treatment, work in the swimming pool and physical preparation.
Kroupi has now set himself a first objective: to be available for the trip to Old Trafford against Manchester United on October 25. Bournemouth, however, does not intend to take any risks with one of the revelations of the last Premier League season, author of 13 goals in 35 matches. The international Espoirs will therefore have to confirm his good feelings over the coming weeks before returning to competition.
