A 30-year-old striker trained at Celta de Vigo and passed through Valencia, Santi Mina saw his career come to an end in the summer of 2023 following his sentence to four years in prison for rape. Accused of sexual assault in 2017, he saw the complainant file a complaint for having “inserted his penis into the complainant’s mouth before pushing her onto the bed and inserting three fingers of his right hand into her vagina.” Found guilty of these acts, he tried to escape through numerous appeals.
Three years later, the Supreme Court has just confirmed the four-year prison sentence as reported Ace. According to the judgment, “the accused took advantage of the proximity, surprise and situation in which the victim found himself to commit two non-consensual sexual acts, interrupting his actions when he considered that continuing these acts would require overcoming opposition by force.” The acquittal requested by Santi Mina was rejected.
