This Tuesday, Real Madrid published an official press release in response to the statements of Javier Tebas, the president of LaLiga. The latter notably confided about the complaints of José Mourinho and his club after the Madrid derby lost 2 to 1 last Sunday: “To maintain that the referees are directed against Real Madrid is to live in another galaxy. This story serves as an alibi to hide other shortcomings visible to the naked eye from these first matches of the season. It is more comfortable to point out a conspiracy than to explain what is happening on the ground. » So Casa Blanca responded.

“Our club considers it intolerable that the president of LaLiga uses his institutional position to continue to denigrate and attack Real Madrid in the way he does in each of his interventions. It is of great concern that the person who has the responsibility to represent and protect the interests of all LaLiga clubs remains recurrently obsessed with Real Madrid, making our club the permanent object of his public attacks. His last intervention is particularly serious and incomprehensible, unworthy of a manager, because he comments on the article of an independent journalist in a digital media. However, he reacts against our club by allowing himself, in addition, to judge our sporting strategy, which is totally absurd and irresponsible. It is absolutely surprising that the president of LaLiga devotes his time and personal channels to trying to always publicly discredit Real Madrid, instead of contributing, as part of his responsibilities, to generating trust in the institutions that must guarantee the impartiality of the competition. In doing so, he continues to damage the image of our competition and of Spanish football around the world. Given this inappropriate and persistent behavior over time, we understand that the professional football competition in Spain urgently needs a leader capable of managing it and developing its full potential with the basic duty of neutrality. It needs someone who understands the nature of his role, because the president of LaLiga is not the owner of the competition, but a manager serving the clubs that make it up and who entrust him with their management. Clubs need someone who serves this mission with honesty.” The message got through.
