During a round table on the post-career of players, as part of the “Portugal Football Summit”, the former left-back revealed that his bank accounts had been emptied by unscrupulous people. His private life also led him to bankruptcy.
“Due to agents and family problems, I lost 99% of my football income. I made mistakes. This is why I ask young players not to reproduce them. I had to restructure my financial and family situation”explained the man who spent a good part of his career at Real Madrid.

“I had a serious problem with my old agent,” he continued. I also had a very serious family problem. One Thursday I went to bed at midnight, and on Friday I received a stack of documents I didn’t even know existed. That’s when I lost all control over my past. »
