Present at a press conference this Saturday before the Madrid derby against Atlético de Madrid, José Mourinho was asked about the derby that impressed him the most during his career. The Real Madrid coach, currently second in La Liga three points behind FC Barcelona, has notably experienced several major rivalries during his stints at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Fenerbahçe.
And for the Portuguese, it was precisely the Milan derby between AC Milan and Inter that surprised him the most. “It’s hard to say. The one that surprised me the most because it was so unexpected was Milan against Inter. I thought there was a lot of hatred, and I was surprised to find out that they are actually friends and have a good relationship. I saw a man and a woman in the street wearing different jerseys, or a father and his child. That’s impossible in Portugal…and don’t even get me started on Turkey! »he explained.
