A Ligue 1 match achieved a record audience last weekend… in China.

Good surprise for Ligue 1. While Ligue 1+, which broadcasts all L1 matches, is plateauing in terms of subscribers, the French championship has made a very good breakthrough on the Chinese market.

According to data from the CSM institute relayed by RMC Sport, the meeting of the 4e day between Lille and Troyes, scheduled last Sunday at 3 p.m., attracted an average of 2.15 million viewers in China. This is the highest audience recorded for a Ligue 1 match in the country.

This Lille-Troyes match was broadcast on CCTV-5, the main sports channel in China, at 9 p.m. (local time). There are even, in total, 13 million people on Chinese territory who watched at least one minute of this meeting.
