The League Cup is already over for Manchester United, beaten at Old Trafford by Brighton (2-3) this Wednesday.

Tough sequence for Manchester United. After the defeat in the derby against Man City, after playing for an hour at 11 against 10, the Red Devils were eliminated from the League Cup by Brighton (2-3).

With a reshuffled formation, Michael Carrick’s men started off ideally, with goals from Shea Lacey (8th) and Mason Mount (10th). But after reducing the gap by Charalampos Kostoulas (45th + 2), the visitors completely turned things around, through Pascal Gross (65th) and Maxim de Cuyper (69th). The late entries of Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha were not enough for the Mancuniens.

In the same evening, it happened for Everton, winner of Wolverhampton (1-0), and Aston Villa, who won on the Coventry field.
