Jorge Mendes took advantage of his presence in Barcelona to meet Joan Laporta. The Portuguese agent, who represents several FC Barcelona players, spoke with the Catalan president to discuss current affairs. According to the Mundo Deportivothis meeting did not, however, aim to prepare future transfers, the summer transfer window having just closed its doors. After the final sale of João Cancelo and the loan of Marc Casadó to Deportivo, no new operation is currently on the table.
The situation of Alejandro Baldé, also represented by Mendes, would not have been at the heart of the discussions. Despite reduced playing time under the orders of Hansi Flick and announced interest from Liverpool, the left back is not destined to leave Barça for the moment. The meeting, however, takes on a particular resonance with Lamine Yamal, another major client of Mendes, while the young Catalan star is among the big favorites for the 2026 Ballon d’Or. 42 days before the election, Laporta and the Barcelona leaders have already publicly shown their support for number 10.
