After 28 years at Inter, Piero Ausilio could quickly find a major position. The legendary sporting director of the Italian club is in advanced discussions with Tottenham, who wish to attract him from the next winter transfer window according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The two parties are said to be close to an agreement, with Spurs currently occupying 17th place in the Premier League and are yet to win a single league match this season.
In London, Ausilio could work alongside Roberto De Zerbi, Tottenham coach since last season, and find a squad marked by several very costly arrivals this summer. The club notably spent nearly €500 million this summer, but has still not scored a single goal in the Premier League. An arrival which would make Ausilio the second Italian sporting director in the recent history of Spurs after Fabio Paratici.
