Elversberg even thought he would equalize just before the break, before his goal was disallowed for offside. Without the slightest shot on target in the first period, the promoted team nevertheless returned to the level on the hour mark. Entering at the break, Krattenmacher took advantage of the space left at the entrance to the area to send a superb strike into the opposite corner of Manuel Neuer (1-1). His third goal in three days, each time after coming on.
Jostled despite its clear domination, Bayern once again relied on Harry Kane.
