Liga: Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé still shakes the nets

Kylian Mbappé has once again shaken the nets with Real Madrid. Author of a double against Rayo Vallecano, the French striker largely contributed to the success of the Merengue (4-1).

Real Madrid hosted Rayo Vallecano this Saturday for the 5th day of La Liga. After a sluggish start to the match, José Mourinho’s men quickly took control. Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 14th minute, before Alvaro Carreras doubled the lead six minutes later with an assist from the French striker. Real then continued to push to widen the gap.

The Madrilenians finally found the fault a third time before the break. Jude Bellingham scored the third goal in the 35th minute, allowing Real Madrid to return to the locker room with a comfortable lead (3-0). A score which seemed to put the locals safe before returning to the pitch.

Rayo revives the suspense

But Rayo Vallecano quickly reignited the suspense. From the 51st minute, Sergio Camello reduced the gap and the visitors then created a real highlight. Real Madrid suffered for a long time in the second half, especially after the exit of Fede Valverde and the entry of Eduardo Camavinga. The Madrilenians, however, regained control in the final minutes.

At the start of added time, Kylian Mbappé definitively ended the suspense. The French striker scored twice to make the score 4-1 and seal Real Madrid’s new success.
