Real Madrid want to secure the future of Thibaut Courtois. According to information from COPEMadrid management must meet the representatives of the Belgian goalkeeper in the coming days to discuss a one-season extension. Currently under contract until June 30, 2027, Courtois would be linked to the club until 2028. At 34, the goalkeeper has just started his ninth season in Madrid colors and continues to establish himself as one of the most important players in the squad.
The discussions take place in particular after his exceptional performance against Inter Milan in the Champions League. Decisive on several occasions during Real’s victory (2-1), Courtois largely contributed to the three points obtained by his team. Contacts with those around him should now be intensified in order to quickly reach an agreement. Arriving in 2018 from Chelsea for around 35 million euros, the Belgian could therefore continue his Madrid adventure at least until he is 36.
