Six years after his last appearance in the most prestigious of European cups, Florian Thauvin is preparing to return to the Champions League with the Sang et Or. The latter travel this Thursday (9 p.m.) to the field of Slavia Prague, on behalf of the 1era day of the league stage.
During a press conference on the sidelines of the meeting, “Flotov” said “proud and honored” to return to the C1, a competition that he thought he would never play again at the age of 33. “I admit that at one point in my career I wasn’t sure I would play the Champions League again, today I am very proud and honored. I see it as a reward for the work of recent years, I believe that we have all deserved at the club to compete in this European campaign, we can’t wait to get started.”he said.
The former Marseillais, however, remains cautious before tackling this new Champions League campaign. It must be said that he experienced difficult times in the competition, notably during the 2013-2014 season, which saw OM conclude the group stage with zero points.
