On the eve of meeting Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League, Luis Enrique was invited to talk about Yaya Touré, now coach of the Slovak club. The Spaniard knows the former Ivorian midfielder well, whom he worked with during his years at FC Barcelona and whose development he has followed since his debut on the benches.
The Parisian technician thus gave his view on Touré’s beginnings at the head of Slovan. “When he was a player at Barcelona, I coached the youth team and then the B team. He was a top player. He had experience as an assistant. Slovan is his first experience. I saw a team that likes to have the ball. He uses his experience from Barcelona and Man City. We will see if tomorrow he will have the same desire to be a player again or to be more defensive. You have to know how to manage. Away matches are always difficult.
