The Europa League winners made the difference in the first half, thanks to John McGinn (11th), Emiliano Buendia (22nd) and Nicolas Jackson (43rd), while Hugo Vetlesen (19th) equalized for the locals. The Belgians pushed hard in the second half, reducing the score on a penalty from Nicolo Tresoldi (61st sp), but Unai Emery’s men held on.
Aston Villa are launching their European campaign well and will notably meet PSG on the 6th day, December 8, for a remake of the European Super Cup played in August.
