D-Day! This Tuesday, September 8, the 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or will be revealed by L’Équipe. The race to succeed Ousmane Dembélé will then officially begin, before the big ceremony scheduled for October 26 in London. But a few hours before the announcement, the first leaks are already starting to circulate.
And Paris Saint-Germain is directly concerned. After an exceptional 2025-2026 season, marked in particular by an incredible back-to-back in the Champions League and several major trophies, the capital club could, once again, be widely represented in the France Football list.
A historic record for PSG?
According to English journalist Ben Jacobs, no less than 10 PSG players should be among the 30 finalists. The Parisian club would thus do even better than last year, when it placed nine players on the list. A new record which would allow PSG to represent, on its own, a third of the candidates for the Ballon d’Or.
A domination which could, however, have the opposite effect. With so many Parisians in the running, the votes could be dispersed when it comes time to vote. A phenomenon already observed in the past and which could benefit certain competitors, starting with Harry Kane. It now remains to be seen whether this strong Parisian presence will be officially confirmed this Tuesday.
