The departures of Bradley Barcola to Liverpool for 145 million euros, including bonus, and of Ibrahim Mbaye to Aston Villa for 55 million had notably pushed the club to think about its offensive sector. But if an arrival had finally been concluded in the last hours, it would not have concerned the attack. Paris had also studied several right-handed central defenders this summer, without going any further due to prices considered too high and the lack of opening of certain targets. Faithful to its new policy, PSG therefore preferred not to recruit rather than rush and could reactivate certain files as early as January.
Above all, Paris ends its transfer window with a historic financial balance. The club recorded eleven arrivals, including loan returns, and as many departures, including the termination of Renato Sanches’ contract. PSG achieved nearly 350 million euros in sales against 152 million purchases, excluding bonuses, i.e. a positive balance of around 183 million euros, unheard of under QSI. This strategy responds to the desire to better balance the accounts, but also to no longer retain players wishing to leave. It also supports a new recruitment policy mainly focused on profiles aged 16 to 25, who are likely to increase in value.
