It was an expected first. After waiting two more weeks after the relocation of the first day to Rennes since the pitch at the Parc des Princes was not in condition to host a match, this Friday, PSG hosted AS Monaco at home. A great display for the first at home since the coronation in the Champions League and even that in the European Super Cup. So there were things to celebrate tonight ahead of the match.

And like last season, the capital club first took advantage of the event to present its five summer recruits, namely Maghnès Akliouche, Lucas Digne, Ferran Torres, Mika Godts and the young Italian goalkeeper Alessandro Longoni. The new PSG players were acclaimed by the Parisian public before also seeing Marquinhos arrive to present the European Super Cup.

Luis Enrique extends 3 seasons

But PSG especially surprised everyone in the process since after the recruits, Luis Enrique arrived in the central circle alongside Lucas Beraldo, Senny Mayulu, João Neves, Willian Pacho and Fabián Ruiz. The reason? The stadium announcer was quick to reveal it as he announced their contract extension. For the Spanish technician, he returned for 3 additional seasons while his contract expired at the end of the season next June (2027).

Fabián Ruiz, who in addition to having won the C1 with PSG also took the World Cup with Spain, also extended until 2028. For the rest, namely Lucas Beraldo, Senny Mayulu, João Neves, Willian Pacho, the four players extended until 2031, proof of the confidence placed by the Parisian management in its young players who have already won everything or almost everything.
