Visiting the press this Thursday morning on the eve of facing Betis in La Liga, José Mourinho (63) was questioned about the Julian Alvarez soap opera. As a reminder, the Argentinian asked to leave Atlético de Madrid in order to join the club of his dreams, namely FC Barcelona. But he was retained by the Colchoneros, who refused all offers concerning him. That of €150 million announced by Florentino Pérez during the presidential campaign within Casa Blanca suffered the same fate. In front of journalists, Mourinho therefore responded to the subject of the Spider.

“This situation… no one knows it better than Diego Simeone. And there is nothing more to say about it. What I usually say is that when a player is not satisfied, he must be satisfied by September 1st at the latest, otherwise he does not play. I have the feeling that since yesterday, and at least until the end of the season, he will be an important player for his club. The Colchoneros hope that this will be the case.
