La Coruna continues its excellent start to the season for its return to La Liga. The promoted team scored a big blow on the Villarreal pitch by winning 3-2 at the end of a stunning encounter. Nicolas Pépé had however launched the Yellow Submarine perfectly by opening the scoring in the 10th minute, but Cruz Luismi equalized just before the break (43rd) on a serve from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Villarreal regained the lead in the second half thanks to an own goal from Adama Traoré, before Eddahchouri put the two teams level just three minutes later. Already a passer, Aubameyang finally turned into a hero by scoring the winning goal in the 88th minute. The Gabonese striker thus brings his total to four goals in four days of the championship.

With this victory, La Coruna confirms a particularly successful start to the season with eight points taken in four days and a provisional fourth place in La Liga. The promoted team already had five points before this trip and therefore remains undefeated. The situation is completely different for Villarreal, who have still not won a single league match. After two draws against Racing Santander and Atlético de Madrid then a defeat against Alavés (0-1), the club has only two points and occupies 16th place. La Coruna will try to continue their series next Sunday on the Getafe pitch, while Villarreal will have to quickly recover before their first Champions League meeting on Tuesday in Dortmund.
