Arthur Theate is very close to returning to Bologna, four years after his departure from the Italian club. According to Gianluca Di Marziothe Rossoblù are in the final phase of negotiations to bring back the Belgian defender in the form of a loan with a purchase option set at 15 million euros. The operation is now very advanced and Theate could arrive in Italy as early as this Friday or Saturday in order to finalize his return to Bologna.
The Belgian defender already knows the club perfectly since he played there during the 2021-2022 season. Arriving from KV Ostend for an amount slightly less than seven million euros, Theate was then transferred to Rennes for 19 million euros after only one season in Serie A, allowing Bologna to make a significant capital gain. The Italian club is now on the verge of recovering a player who left a good impression during his first spell.
