The 2026 World Cup ended with an elimination in the semi-finals and a fourth place for the France team. For the Blues players, who have also learned of the arrival of Zinédine Zidane at the head of the team, we must now think about the future and take advantage of the holidays before the resumption of the season. Usually very discreet, Michael Olise wanted to publish a message on his Instagram account a few weeks after the elimination of France. And he took the opportunity to thank Didier Deschamps.

“Not having managed to bring home the trophy is a huge disappointment. This is not how we imagined this World Cup would end when the tournament started. Wearing the French team jersey during a World Cup has always been, and will always remain, a dream for me. Even though we failed to lift the trophy, I am proud to have set the record for the most assists in the history of a World Cup. But, above all, I would have preferred to be here to say that we won the World Cup, all together, with my teammates, the staff, the coaches and all the supporters of the France team. It is this objective that will continue to drive us, and we hope to be able, in the future, to offer you new moments of joy and unforgettable memories to live alongside us. I would also like to thank the coach for giving me my first selection for the national team and for believing in me, even in the most difficult moments. I will always be grateful to you and wish you the best for the future, whatever path you choose. Thank you, France”
