As Inter Milan seeks to strengthen its defense, the Lombard club is pushing to attract Cristian Romero, currently at Tottenham. The Nerazzurri must, however, deal with competition from Atlético de Madrid and especially with the high salary demands of the Argentine defender, who would demand at least 6 million euros per season. An agreement around 40 million euros has already been reached with Tottenham, but the file remains blocked on the player’s personal conditions.
To try to tip the scales, Inter can count on two strong supporters: Javier Zanetti and Lautaro Martínez. The two Argentinians would have directly contacted their compatriot to convince him to join Milan, relying in particular on their relationship with the 2022 World Champion. Romero already knows Italy well, he who went through Genoa then Atalanta, and could therefore be tempted by a return to Serie A.
