Rodri’s future is still unresolved. While the Manchester City midfielder has only one year left on his contract, several European giants are closely monitoring his situation. PSG, Bayern Munich and, more recently, FC Barcelona have all inquired about the Spanish world champion, once again becoming one of the most coveted files of the summer. Barça notably took information after the serious injury of Frenkie de Jong, but the Catalan club has not yet started discussions with Manchester City.

The Blaugranas remain focused on other priorities, such as the arrivals of João Cancelo and a new striker, while the Cityzens would demand nearly €75 million to let their midfielder leave. Rodri would, however, appreciate Barça’s project and the Blaugrana team would have the means to align with an operation worth 50 million euros maximum. But according to information from the Madrid newspaper A.S.Rodri has however already made his choice for this summer transfer window.

Real Madrid remains confident

If the Spain international were to leave Manchester City this summer, he would only want to join one club: Real Madrid. Despite approaches from PSG, Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona, the player would favor a return to his hometown in the Merengue jersey. Real Madrid would also display measured optimism in this matter. Madrid leaders hope to negotiate the price asked by Manchester City, estimated at €75 million, in order to conclude the operation around €60 million.

A departure will nevertheless be necessary to free up a place in the squad before being able to welcome the midfielder, but Real Madrid are in no hurry, knowing that the player is recovering from back surgery and cannot train with his new teammates for several weeks anyway. The midfielder is currently in Montenegro, where he is enjoying his vacation, away from rumors surrounding his future, and is not yet in a rush to finalize his move to Real Madrid.
