Mercato: A departing OM executive?

This Tuesday, Olympique de Marseille announced the departure of Facundo Medina for Bayer Leverkusen for an amount of 25 million euros.

Sanctioned by the DNCG and obliged to replenish its coffers, Olympique de Marseille continues its downsizing operation. After the departures of Greenwood, Aubameyang, Nadir and Traoré, it is Facundo Medina who leaves the Marseille club.

For several days, the Argentinian international was insistently announced by Bayer Leverkusen. He was in fact one of the players who could be sold by OM, having a good market value and allowing them to offload a large salary. It is now done since the former Lensois has officially signed up with the German club. The amount of the operation amounts to 25 million euros which should be good for the finances of the Riviera club.

A short stint at OM

Arriving last summer from Lens in the form of a loan with an option to buy, Medina played 26 matches in the Olympian jersey during a season marked by a major injury.
