Captain of Tottenham and part of the Spurs defense, Cristian Romero is in the sights of Inter Milan. The Italian club is seeking to strengthen its defensive sector and has targeted the Argentinian international, even if the operation promises to be particularly complex on a financial level. Under contract until 2029 with Tottenham, the 28-year-old defender could nevertheless be authorized to leave in the event of an offer deemed satisfactory by the London club. For his part, nerazzurro sporting director Piero Ausilio confirmed Inter’s interest in the former Atalanta player: “We are trying to reach an agreement with the player and the club (Tottenham). It takes time, but the interest is there. We’ll see. »

Romero, however, is coming off a season marked by a knee injury which deprived him of the end of the year, but remains a major element of Tottenham since his arrival in 2021. He played 124 matches in the Spurs jersey, with 12 goals scored, despite a sometimes sulphurous reputation including four red cards received in the Premier League. Inter also want to recruit a right back this summer and are particularly monitoring Djed Spence, Romero’s teammate at Tottenham, even if the track seems less advanced than that leading to the Argentine defender.
