FC Barcelona takes on the Karim Adeyemi bet!

Champion of Spain last season, FC Barcelona however failed in the quarter-final of the Champions League against Atlético de Madrid. Ambitious and wanting to win on both counts, the Catalan club has already started its transfer window with a big transfer since the English winger, Anthony Gordon (25 years old) arrived from Newcastle for 80 million euros.

After letting go of certain elements like Ansu Fati (AS Monaco), Iñaki Peña (Panathinaikos) and Robert Lewandowski (Chicago), FC Barcelona went on the attack again and found a versatile element. Capable of playing as a right winger or in the middle, Karim Adeyemi (24 years old) was quickly identified as an opportunity to seize.

A market opportunity

The player revealed at Red Bull Salzburg and arriving in the Ruhr in 2022 was one year from the end of his contract. Remaining on an honorable season (10 goals and 6 assists in 39 matches), he did not, however, convince German coach Julian Nagelsmann to call him up this summer for the 2026 World Cup.

Nevertheless, the potential is still present on the side of the native of Munich and FC Barcelona has noted this. The Blaugrana thus managed to convince Borussia Dortmund with an offer of 22 million fixed euros and bonuses that could raise the bill to around 30 million euros. The player has accepted a 5-year contract. “FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement for the transfer of striker Karim Adeyemi, who signs a contract until 2031. The German striker arrives from Borussia Dortmund and reunites with Hansi Flick, whom he worked with in the German selection”we can read in a press release.
