Three days after the Blues’ last match at the 2026 World Cup, Désiré Doué spoke on his social networks.

The Blues dreamed of a third star, they will have to settle for fourth place. Beaten in the semi-final of the 2026 World Cup by Spain (2-0), the France team ended the tournament with a defeat against England (4-6) in the small final, last Saturday in Miami.

An ending which was not the one hoped for by the Tricolores, who left the United States with a lot of disappointment in their suitcase. This is the case of Désiré Doué, who started the World Cup, before being put into competition with Bradley Barcola.

On his Instagram account, Désiré Doué broke the silence. The young Parisian, who was playing in his first World Cup, did not hide his disappointment at not having managed to bring the cup home.

Doué: “I’m sure we’ll come back stronger!” »

“We were hoping for better than a semi-final… However, I will remember the positives from this season, which was exceptional, after winning my second Champions League and participating in my first World Cup”wrote the former Rennais.

And to add: “I am proud and grateful to have worn this jersey and to have the chance to represent my country. I am sure we will come back stronger! Thank you all for your support. See you soon ! » Now it’s time for vacation for Doué, who will then begin his third season at Paris Saint-Germain.
