Alvaro Arbeloa’s Madrid adventure was short-lived. Arriving mid-season to take the place of Xabi Alonso who had alienated the locker room, the former right back of Casa Blanca and the Reds experienced a fate similar to that of his former teammate. Mediocre results, very average content and play, and problems with certain big heads in the locker room, starting with Kylian Mbappé.

However, his rating and his label as a promising coach were not affected by this complicated half-season on the Bernabéu bench, and several clubs came to the news to offer him a job. It was ultimately to Fulham that he gave his agreement, a club which finished eleventh in the last edition of the Premier League. And obviously, he had guarantees in terms of transfer window. As indicated in the BBChe would like to draw on the side of his former club.

Beautiful trails

The media indicates that three players are in Arbeloa’s sights: Fran Garcia, Franco Mastantuono and Gonzalo Garcia. He got on particularly well with these three players during his adventure as coach of Real Madrid, and he wants to have them under his command in England. However, the Iberian press indicates that the future of the first city should be written on the side of Betis, which has made good progress on the arrival of the Spanish left side in recent hours. A first small failure for Arbeloa therefore.

Concerning Franco Mastantuono, the BBC specifies that he is available on loan, but that Fulham will face strong competition in this file. Arbeloa’s presence at Craven Cottage could, however, be decisive. As for Gonzalo Garcia, the Spanish striker, he should do the pre-season with the first team and José Mourinho will decide on his future afterwards. Case(s) to be continued…
