Paris Saint-Germain is moving forward with its transfer window. After the departure of Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan, the capital club was looking for a new number nine to strengthen its squad. If the trail leading to Julian Alvarez had been mentioned before being buried, other names had started to emerge like Ferran Torres, the FC Barcelona striker. And everything quickly accelerated since Sky Sports Italy has just announced that the capital club has found common ground with Ferran Torres.

If several details still remain to be resolved between the different parties, a basis for agreement already exists between the European champion and the FC Barcelona striker. Barça no longer has any illusions regarding the future of the Spanish international, who had already mentioned Parisian interest. Under contract until 2027, Ferran Torres is still far from an extension and the Catalan leaders have already anticipated his departure. As announced a few days ago, Karim Adeyemi will join the Blaugranas from Borussia Dortmund and should take over on the attacking front.

A profile desired by Luis Enrique

On the Parisian side, it was especially Luis Enrique who pushed for this arrival. The Spanish coach has long appreciated the profile of Ferran Torres, whom he had already managed with the Spanish selection. His speed, his technical quality and his ability to evolve across the entire offensive front make him a player perfectly compatible with the playing system put in place by the Parisian technician. Last season, Ferran Torres took advantage of Robert Lewandowski’s poor form to score 16 goals and provide 2 assists in 33 La Liga matches.

After having built a formidable attack around Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué and Bradley Barcola, whose future is still uncertain and particularly in the event of the arrival of the Barcelonan, PSG wants to further strengthen its offensive sector. The arrival of Ferran Torres would offer a new high-level solution to Luis Enrique, who now hopes to see negotiations with FC Barcelona succeed quickly. The PSG transfer window is progressing, in the direction of arrivals as well as departures.
