Before joining Crystal Palace, Pierre Sage was courted by Saudi Arabia. According to our information, the Saudi club Al-Ittihad, fifth in the last Saudi Pro League championship, tried to convince the French technician with a very significant financial offer. Despite a salary much higher than that offered in England, Sage declined the approach, favoring above all the Eagles’ sporting project.

On June 15, the former RC Lens coach officially signed up for three seasons with Crystal Palace, where he succeeded Oliver Glasner. Although he greatly increased his salary compared to his time in the North of France, Pierre Sage was above all seduced by the possibility of discovering the Premier League and continuing his progression at the highest level, rather than giving in to the lure of Saudi Arabia.
