While Didier Deschamps returned to France for the death of his mother, the coach and his staff decided to give their players a moment of rest. Installed at the Four Seasons in Boston, the French were able to reunite with their families and loved ones present on site for the 2026 World Cup, an infrequent but very appreciated initiative. Furthermore, further free time is also planned after the match against Norway (this Friday at 9:00 p.m.).
The Blues will therefore have the opportunity to evacuate after this last match in Group I, by taking some free time around a brunch organized on Saturday with their families, until the beginning of the afternoon. Aurélien Tchouaméni, French midfielder, also welcomed this idea at a press conference. “It could have been longer if we didn’t have that atmosphere within our team. We spend a lot of time together, whether during meals or outside, but we also have a lot of work in the room in the morning. The days finally pass quite quickly, we feel good”. Hopefully this continues until July 19th.
