England and Croatia face off this Wednesday in the first day of Group L of the 2026 World Cup.

Placed among the favorites for the 2026 World Cup, England will have a lot to do in the group stages. For their first match, the Three Lions will challenge Croatia, the eleventh nation in the world and third in the 2022 edition, before facing Ghana (June 23) then Panama (June 27) for a particularly tough Group L.

This meeting will also be an opportunity for Thomas Tuchel to silence the criticism received in the country. The coach made several surprise changes when his group was announced, notably deciding to remove Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, Harry Maguire and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
