David Sullivan, co-owner of West Ham for 16 years, announced his immediate departure this Saturday. In a press release relayed by the London club, the 77-year-old businessman explained that he had recently learned that “factually inaccurate and completely false allegations, dating back several decades, concerning his private life, are about to be published”. The manager was notably linked to the sector of sex shops and pornographic magazines.
“After a lifetime of building businesses in the adult industry, where I have met thousands of women, it is sadly inevitable that a small number of allegations of inappropriate conduct will be made against me. I categorically deny these accusations. I am resigning in order to devote all my energy and attention to combating these false allegations.” he explained in the official document, without providing additional details.
