This is the sentence that has made the sports press tremble since last night. “I am going to make an offer of €150 million on Tuesday to recruit one of the best players for a Champions League team”declared Real Madrid’s election candidate, Florentino Pérez. And since then, the media have been searching for the name of the player in question: “this transfer of €150 million does not concern a defender. “It could be a midfielder or a striker, he’s a young player.”even added the outgoing Merengue president.

Simple communication stunt or real announcement on the transfer window? Florentino Pérez, in any case, caused a sensation with this announcement and even excluded a few names. “The €150m offer will not concern Michael Olise. It won’t be Erling Haaland either and it won’t be Harry Kane, no. In fact, the €150m offer does not concern a Premier League player. The offer will be for a player of the caliber of Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaká. It’s a galactic. So, very quickly several names from the same club quickly came out: Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG closes the door to Real Madrid

The names of Vitinha, João Neves, Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia were then mentioned. That of Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich) too. But the Spanish press reported this morning that it was indeed a Parisian player. And the most serious tracks lead to Vitinha and João Neves. Two players represented by Jorge Mendes, with whom the Madrid president has good relations, but respectively under contract until 2029 and 2030. And even before their names can circulate internally, Paris Saint-Germain has already lost.

La Cadena Cope reveals that neither Vitinha nor João Neves are for sale, after having received close feedback from Parisian management. PSG does not plan to listen to offers for its two midfield gems, not even that of 150 million euros. Sources in Qatar say they have no intention of “participate in this debate, because that is what Real Madrid wants”. A dry response for Florentino Pérez, who had already promised Ibrahima Konaté and Denzel Dumfries in the event of re-election this Sunday.
