Where will Walid Regragui bounce back? After leaving the Moroccan selection at the beginning of last March, the 50-year-old technician is looking for a new sideline.
Announced recently as a potential candidate for the post of coach of Al-Ittihad, who parted ways with Sergio Conceiçao at the end of the season, Regragui should ultimately not settle down in Jeddah. According to several Saudi media, his profile was not retained.
It is even said that no negotiations would actually have been initiated between the Moroccan coach and Al-Ittihad. The Saudi Pro League club, which is coming off a disappointing season ending in 5e
instead, would favor other options, the names of which have not been leaked.
Regragui, priority Europe?
If the Al-Ittihad track now seems closed, Walid Regragui continues to enjoy good popularity in Saudi Arabia. However, for the moment, there is no indication that he is close to joining a Saudi team.
A few days after the announcement of his departure from the Moroccan selection, Foot Mercato suggested that Regragui’s priority was to coach a European club for the first time in his career.
