The presidential couple will be in Clairefontaine this Tuesday. As he has become accustomed to in the run-up to a major tournament, Emmanuel Macron, accompanied by his wife Brigitte, is in fact expected at the National Football Center to provide the Blues with “his support and that of the whole country”.

The Head of State will say a few sweet words to Kylian Mbappé and his gang as well as to Didier Deschamps. The President of the Republic also shared this Monday with a text published by Ouest-France to pay a beautiful tribute to the French coach, who will leave his post at the end of the World Cup.

“We can’t do anything against the will of Didier Deschamps. I have always been struck by this strength of character that you sense in him as soon as you meet his gaze. The survival instinct that makes great captains…”, he wrote to begin with before recalling his career as a player and technician, he who was the last to allow OM, the club of Emmanuel Macron’s heart, to be champion of France.

“Always carrying this pragmatic and brilliant spirit, and with Guy Stephan, trainer of a generation of magnificent players, first and foremost Hugo Lloris, emblematic captain until his international retirement”, he continued before happily remembering the 2018 World Cup and a sparkling summer that lifted us with happiness.”

Like every French person, I will miss ‘DD’”

“Didier Deschamps finally brought the cup home. As always, he knew how to transform dreams into victories, and preferred success to hopes, he added. Didier Deschamps truly embodies a French spirit that never gives up. So many of our countrymen have learned to love this style that prefers to win rather than please. »

“Like every French person, I will miss “DD”, he concluded. His quiet strength, his calm in the face of adversity, his exceptional human qualities, his personal and generous commitment to the Yellow Pieces. From Clairefontaine to the Élysée, from Moscow to Marseille, he was the coach of happy days for us. »
