The almost completed transfer of Ansu Fati to AS Monaco will be good for FC Barcelona’s finances. In addition to the 11 million euros that the operation should bring in thanks to the purchase option negotiated with the Monegasque club, Barça is getting closer to returning to the “1 for 1” rule, which would allow it to fully reinvest the sums saved or generated on the transfer market. A scenario already favored by the departure of Robert Lewandowski and other ancillary operations which brought in €70 million for the Blaugranas, explains Mundo Deportivo.
Before his departure, Ansu Fati had also agreed to modify his contract with Barça. While it was to receive 26 million euros gross over the last two years of its lease, until 2027, the two parties had agreed to spread this sum until 2028. Thanks to this restructuring then its transfer to Monaco, the Catalan club will free up nearly 17.2 million euros in payroll over the next two seasons. A significant reduction which could offer more room for maneuver to Barcelona leaders to strengthen the workforce during the summer transfer window.
