After Arsenal, a new trophy already awaits PSG

Once again winner of the Champions League, PSG climbed onto the podium in the UEFA rankings. But not for long…

Paris Saint-Germain entered the annals of the Champions League a little further on Saturday against Arsenal. By dominating the Gunners on penalties (1-1, 4 tab to 3) on the lawn of the Puzkas Arena, PSG became the second club in the history of the Champions League to retain its title.

UEFA is, however, less formal than Mikel Arteta. According to the UEFA index, PSG only appears in third place in the ranking, still ahead of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. The capital club is ahead of Liverpool and Inter Milan while Manchester City and Arsenal follow in sixth and seventh place.

However, the situation will be different next summer when the points from the 2021-22 season will be deducted. If Bayern will still be at the top of the standings, Arsenal will land in second place just ahead of Real Madrid. PSG will therefore have to settle for fourth place ahead of Inter Milan and Liverpool.
