Uncertainty is lifted regarding the future of Ansu Fati, loaned by FC Barcelona to AS Monaco this season.

Ansu Fati was one of AS Monaco’s nice moves during the last summer transfer window. Having become unwanted at FC Barcelona, with three small matches played between January and July 2025, the 23-year-old striker managed to get loaned to the Principality. A rather profitable choice since he found playing time, and especially the net, with 12 goals in 30 appearances this season.

A convincing first season in the eyes of the Monegasque leaders who, according to information from Fabrizio Romano, have decided to exercise the Spaniard’s purchase option. The transfer fee amounts to 11 million euros, while Barça will retain a resale clause.

The challenges awaiting Ansu Fati

For his second season with ASM, Ansu Fati should, in all likelihood, play under the orders of Filipe Luis – strongly anticipated to succeed Sébastien Pocognoli -, and will try to help his team qualify for the next edition of the Conference League. Monaco having to compete in the play-offs.
