On its website, the English club confirmed that Jürgen Klopp’s successor had been fired “with immediate effect”. In question of course, the results of the 47-year-old Dutchman this season with Liverpool. While the club broke the bank during the last summer transfer window by even breaking its spending record, the results are not up to par.
And Arne Slot therefore pays the consequences with this announced dismissal. Several other explanations have been put forward in the media to justify this choice: the style of play proposed by the tactician, but also his management of certain players, starting with Mohamed Salah. A true star of the Reds in recent years, the Egyptian international has regularly started matches on the bench. If the striker’s performances could justify Slot’s decisions, all this seems to have turned against the latter today.

The question of his replacement is therefore raised, and according to Dailymail, the solution has already been found in the person of Andoni Iraola. The latter is not unknown in the Premier League since he achieved a great feat with Bournemouth, managing to qualify for the next Europa League.
It remains to wait for the officialization of this appointment. This season, Arne Slot has spent 57 matches in charge of the Reds, with 28 wins, 9 draws and 20 defeats on the clock, in all competitions. His contract ran until June 2027.
