This new championship, equivalent to the National but with professional status, will begin on August 6, 2026 and end on May 22, 2027. The eighteen qualified clubs, including SC Bastia, SM Caen, La Roche-sur-Yon, Amiens SC and FC Versailles, will compete for a place in Ligue 2, or relegation to the fourth division.
