This is called a flash outbreak. Recruited from the modest club Leganes (for €20 million after only 6 months in Spain), Yan Diomandé confirmed the hopes placed in him this season with RB Leipzig. With 13 goals and 9 assists in 36 matches, he allowed the club to return to the podium and the Champions League. And on a personal level, this allowed him to be named best young player of the season in the Bundesliga. Enough to attract interests, and not just any interests. For several weeks he has been designated as Liverpool’s priority to succeed Mohamed Salah on the Reds’ right flank.

The player would be charmed by this destination, but it is not yet complete. If Liverpool tries to pick up the pace, the competition is still there, represented by Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City. According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, the capital club and the Citizens have already started discussions to recruit the Ivorian player (already 9 caps), whose market value rises to €90 million on transfermarkt. Under contract until 2030 with RB Leipzig, who do not despair of extending it, Diomandé will therefore be one of the attractions of the summer transfer window.
