Strong trends are already emerging regarding the Algerian selection for the 2026 World Cup.

Vladimir Petkovic’s Algerian selection for the 2026 World Cup is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 31. For the first time in 12 years, the Greens will indeed be at the major international football event, with Argentina, Austria and Jordan on the menu for the first phase.

In order to prepare for this crucial deadline, Algeria has planned two friendly matches against the Netherlands and Bolivia. Confrontations which will then be honored by the globalists chosen by the Swiss coach of Croatian origin. Among them Luca Zidane, who should be called up in goal despite his recent broken jaw, like Melvin Mastil and Oussama Benbot.

In defense, no surprises a priori. Aissa Mandi, Ramy Bensebaini, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Kylian Belghali and Ahmed Touba Belaid will certainly be on the trip, like Jaouen Hadjam, Samir Chergui and Achraf Abada, or even Mehdi Dorval who has been able to continue with Bari in recent weeks.

It would be no for Kebbal and Abdelli

According to the Algerian press, it is in midfield that Vladimir Petkovic should carry out a profound reshuffle, notably removing Himad Abdelli, Adil Aouchiche and Adem Zagence. Uncertainty remains over Ismael Bennacer, and one of the big winners should be Lille’s Nabil Bentaleb. No doubt, however, for Houssem Aouar, Yacine Titraoui, Hicham Boudaoui, Ibrahim Maza, Farès Chaïbi and Ramiz Zerrouki.

Finally in attack, the certainties are Mohamed Amoura, Anis Hadj-Moussa, Riyad Mahrez, Amine Gouiri and Adil Boulbina. Highly visible with Györ this season in Hungary, Nadhir Benbouali also seems destined for the 2026 World Cup. It is much more vague for Baghdad Bounedjah, Farès Ghedjemis and Mohamed Belloumi. The young Rayan Kolli, QPR prodigy, received a pre-call-up. The trend would be negative on the contrary for Ilan Kebbal despite his successful season with Paris FC.
