Hull City have earned their place in the Premier League. With promised staggering financial benefits.

After Coventry and Ipswich, Hull City won the third and final ticket to the Premier League, tormenting Middlesbrough in the play-off final on Saturday after finishing sixth in the Championship only. A real achievement, therefore, for a club which had not been among the English elite since 2017.

In addition to promotion, the club from the city of Kingston upon Hull, in the east of the kingdom, will be able to enjoy the great package that accompanies this return to the Premier League. According to projections relayed by Sky Sport, nearly 230 million euros will replenish the Tigers’ coffers next season. And this at least, in the event of a direct return to the second division.

A ticket comparable to the OM budget

Most of this windfall comes from TV rights, which are worth around a billion and a half euros each year in England, not to mention the profusion of international rights. This is ten times more than the overall envelope currently allocated to Ligue 1. These 230 million euros promised to Hull City correspond more or less to OM’s budget, i.e. more than 16 of the 18 clubs making up the French championship.
