In a week, PSG has the opportunity to enter a very private circle. While the Champions League title has eluded the capital club for years, the latter has the opportunity, next Saturday, to win it for the second time in a row against Arsenal. An important meeting for an entire club but also for certain players who, at the same time, can make football history. This is the case of Ousmane Dembélé. Offensive boss of the Parisians since the departure of Kylian Mbappé in the summer of 2024, the native of Vernon has taken on another dimension in Paris. Winner of the Ballon d’Or last season, Dembélé could do the double this year if everything goes well.

Author of 19 goals and 11 assists in 39 matches this season, “Dembouz” is clearly a credible candidate for his own succession. In a hybrid nine role with Luis Enrique at PSG, Dembélé could become the favorite for a second Ballon d’Or with a Champions League in his bag. Before this crucial deadline in Budapest, number 10 of PSG was present at the microphone of M6 this Sunday evening. The opportunity for him to return to numerous points and in particular to praise the contribution of Luis Enrique in his career: “Luis Enrique, his recipe? We can’t say it (laughs). He is a top coach. We saw it at FC Barcelona and now at PSG. He is a coach who has a clear idea and he tries to transmit it to all his teams. He has a lot of energy, you see it in press conferences. He is a very good coach, he is exceptional and we hope that he will stay at PSG for a very long time.»

Ousmane Dembélé wants to do better, especially with France

After this beautiful tirade for his coach, Ousmane Dembélé confirmed, despite the alert during the last day of Ligue 1 against Paris FC, that he will be present next Saturday against Arsenal. Asked about his performance, Dembélé had a fairly remarkable outing. According to him, he still has things to improve despite a challenge which has allowed him to become one of the best players in the world: “many saw things in me, but there are also things to improve. Whether it’s with Luis Enrique or the players I’m on the pitch with, they are high quality players and I’m also trying to improve. I questioned myself a lot. Luis Enrique asked me to lead by example, whether on or off the pitch. I had a lot more responsibilities. I’m just trying to do my job.”

Renewed on his desire to do better in the future, Ousmane Dembélé was directed towards the French team. A stone’s throw from the World Cup on the other side of the Atlantic, the 29-year-old striker knows he must do better. After failed tournaments with the Blues and only 7 goals in 58 caps, the player trained in Rennes wants to do better with the Blues, and seems to have ticked off the world tournament: “of course, I still have to prove myself with the Blues. The Champions League is the first stage with PSG, after which there is incredible competition for us French people. It’s exceptional to play in a World Cup, it’s not every day. I’m going to play my third and I hope to perform well. It’s a goal, especially after the pain we experienced in 2022.” You will have understood, Ousmane Dembélé is clearly not satisfied!
