This Saturday, Inter Milan traveled to Bologna for the 38th and final day of the Serie A season. The Nerazzurri, Italian champions for the 21st time in their history, were in great shape since they had not conceded a single setback in their last nine days. On the other hand, Jonathan Rowe’s teammates were 8th in the standings and no longer expected anything. Without a qualifying place for the European Cup, the home side simply had to finish on a high note. And despite the fatigue at the end of the season, Bologna started in the best way against the teammates of the first scorer, Federico Dimarco (22nd, 0-1).
A few moments after the opening score, Federico Bernardeschi equalized (25th, 1-1), then Tommaso Pobega gave his team the advantage before the break (42nd, 2-1). After the three goals scored by the Italians, a Pole offered the third goal to the locals with an own goal from Piotr Zieliński (48th, 3-1). Then, the young Pio Esposito gave hope to the Milanese (68th, 3-2) before Andy Diouf snatched an unexpected draw (86th, 3-3). Inter therefore concludes its exercise with one more draw and 87 points, while Bologna finishes 8th.
