Just before starting his press conference in preparation for the trip to Valencia, Hansi Flick and all of FC Barcelona learned of the official departure of Pep Guardiola from Manchester City. An announcement which necessarily resonated in a particular way in the stronghold of the Catalan coach. Asked about this, Hansi Flick paid tribute to his counterpart.
“Ten years… I don’t think you’ll see me here again. At 70, I don’t think this is the place I should be. As for Guardiola, ten years at a club at this level is an incredible performance. What he accomplished is incredible. I always said he was the best coach in the world and he has proven it over the last ten years, year after year. Even when things weren’t going well, he always knew how to handle the situation. His role was fantastic. When we talk about philosophy, his teams always play at the highest level and he always finds a solution to be better than the other teams. And if we look at the titles he has won, it is exceptional. I wish him to rest a little and take his time before coming back. I hope he comes back soon”he confided.
